The Aseev Estate in Tambov is an elegant, snow-white palace situated on the high bank of the Tsna River, surrounded by a shady old park. Before the revolution, the estate belonged to the famous industrialist, philanthropist, and public figure, honorary citizen of the city of Tambov, Mikhail Vasilyevich Aseev, who came from a merchant dynasty. The Aseevs rightfully stand as one of the most renowned trade and industrial dynasties of the 19th and early 20th centuries, not only in the Tambov, Penza, and Saratov provinces but throughout Russia. For his services to the Fatherland, M.V. Aseev was granted hereditary nobility. In the spring of 1918, the house was requisitioned, and the Aseev family emigrated abroad.
M.V. Aseev's house was built in 1905 according to the design of the Moscow architect Lev Kekushev. Its metropolitan scale, refined detailing, decorative diversity, and the high quality of construction work were unprecedented. Built in the Art Nouveau style, with original facades and exclusive interior solutions, the house still amazes with its originality, beauty, and the elegance of all its elements.

The Museum Today
On September 27, 2014, the grand opening of the Tambov Regional State Autonomous Cultural Institution "Historical and Cultural Museum Complex 'The Aseev Estate'" took place, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Tambov Region's founding. From its very first day of operation, the "Aseev Estate" Museum Complex became a cultural center for the city and the region. General and thematic tours of the museum allow visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of an early 20th-century Russian estate, see the meticulously recreated interiors, and learn interesting facts from the history of the era and the way of life of the M.V. Aseev family.
