The M.V. Aseev Mansion is the crown jewel of Tambov, often called the "Tambov Peterhof". This stunning white Art Nouveau mansion was built in 1905 for Mikhail Aseev, a wealthy factory owner, philanthropist, and honorary citizen of Tambov. The project was designed by the famous Moscow architect Lev Kekushev, a master of Russian Art Nouveau.
The interiors are truly magnificent. You can admire the grand marble staircase, the elegant White Hall for receptions, and the Columned Hall with its beautiful glass ceiling that fills the room with light. The estate also features a beautiful park with centuries-old oak trees (one is over 225 years old!), fountains, and walking paths. Today, it's a museum complex where you can take guided tours, enjoy theatrical performances, and even attend balls in period costumes.
